Rules

Don't be an asshat. People tend not to appreciate it, for instance, when you control their characters without permission, or when your character has an intimate encounter with a nuclear warhead and walks away unscathed. Unless, you know, that's something your character does, in which case, fire away. In other words, use your common sense.

We do not accept real person characters (ie. celebrities); however, both original and canon characters are welcome.

There is currently an eight-character limit per player, and a maximum of three characters per fandom. Crossover fandoms (for instance, SG-1 and Atlantis, or Buffy and Angel) do count as a single fandom in this instance. Original characters are exempt from this.

Posts with NC-17 content must be placed behind a cut and/or labelled with the appropriate warnings.

As this is a multi-fandom game, canon-puncturing - where one character recognizes another as fictional - is, of course, an issue. While it is allowed, there are certain conditions: before canon-puncturing a character, you must get the agreement of the players of all characters in that fandom. For instance, if I wanted to tell Harry Potter that he was a character in a best-selling novel, I'd have to get the okay from Harry's player and all the other HP players first.

You can post in two or more places at once with the same character. It's naturally assumed that each thread is happening at a different point in time, unless otherwise specified.

When leaving for a period of longer then a couple days, a post must be made in the OOC community letting us know.

If you drop role play (ie: disappear without prior notice), for a period more than 30 days; you will automatically be removed from all the Lost City communities, your canon character(s) put up for grabs, and any original characters killed off.

A certain standard of role-play is expected at this community, from everyone - this includes the basics like grammar, spelling, not posting constant one-liners but also common role-play courtesies. If it's found that you're consistently not keeping to the standards the other players are putting out here you will be contacted by a mod via e-mail for a character conference where we will discuss some weak areas and make suggestions on improvement. After that it's up to you whether or not to follow the suggestions and raise the bar.
